Chambord & Chenonceau Castles: Christmas Decorations

Happy Holidays (Joyeuses Fetes) from France Off the Beaten Path Tours!A Personal Note from the Road

I spent this week visiting my favorite castles in the Loire Valley, collecting inspiration to share the holiday season’s beauty with you. Seeing holiday magic come alive in these storied castles was a joy, and I’m eager to share that enchantment through the photos I captured on my trip.

  • The spectacular holiday exposition at Château de Chambord commemorates the 150th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen’s death, bringing the holidays to life in a grand way. The castle’s grounds and interiors glow with festive artistry inspired by both Christmas and Andersen’s fairy tales, and celebrate imagination, storytelling, and whimsy.
  • Meanwhile, at Château de Chenonceau, holiday décor is pure elegance, thanks to the castle’s Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) florist, Jean-François Boucher. I expected lush seasonal florals, meticulous craft, and a magical festive atmosphere, and he delivered—a true fairytale for the holidays.

Join me for a personal look at these magical displays. Click the image squares in the photo gallery below for a close-up of the photo highlights and exclusive behind-the-scenes from my Loire Valley journey.

Wishing you the Happiest of Holidays!
