Come join Off the Beaten Path for a journey along the back roads of the beautiful countryside of Provence, France. During this 6-day/5-night tour, witness vibrantly colored landscapes of lavender, sunflower and poppy fields. Explore historical perched villages sprinkled across the Luberon hills. Savor vegetable rich, Italian influenced cuisine. Prepare recipes of traditional Provencal cuisine with local celebrity master chefs. Shop at the best outdoor market of Provence and learn interesting pointers about buying authentic, local products and crafts. Walk the calanques (fjords) along the Mediterranean Sea (or non-walkers can opt to join a viewing excursion by boat), and afterwards enjoy a rewarding lunch at the colorful, village port of Cassis.
Participate in a 2nd walk "village to village" crossing spectacular countryside, vineyards and olive orchards of the Alpilles, and join in a 3rd optional walk through the vineyards of Provence that concludes with a wine tasting of regional wines or opt for leisure time and pursue individual interests back in St. Remy. Visit a favorite Artisan "Savonnerie" (artisan Provence Soap Maker's workshop) to witness traditional soap production still in practice.
